The LG Optimus Black is currently the world’s thinnest smart phone, as well as the first to feature a Nova display – “the brightest, clearest and most readable among mobile screens with 700 nits of brightness for optimal visibility.” coming in at just 9.2mm, tapering down to 6mm.

LG’s recently-announced Android 2.2 smart phone will have optional, changeable back plates that let users customize its appearance – so, yes, we may actually see Optimus Black units in pink. One extra cover (of unspecified color) may be included in the handset’s retail box – and users who want even more covers will have to buy them.
Other feature Included a 2MP front-facing camera for video calling and will allow for the transfer of data between devices by way of its Wi-Fi Direct functionality, making it the first handset to feature the technology.
The LG Optimus Black will be released in the first half of 2011.
