RIM Confirms BlackBerry PlayBook support for Android and Java

RIM has just announced that its upcoming tablet will be able to run Android apps, called the BlackBerry PlayBook. Canadian Company, Research In Motion (RIM) will release two “app players” that provide an environment for the PlayBook to run BlackBerry Java and Android 2.3 apps but probably later will ensure compatibility with the Android 3.0.

Other feature RIM plans to release a native kit for developers (SDK) the BlackBerry PlayBook, which enables C/C++ application development for BlackBerry Tablet OS. Download the new app players for the BlackBerry PlayBook will be able in the summer through BlackBerry App World.

New BlackBerry Playbook is now available for pre-order, while the 16GB model is $500.
